We just wanted to take a minute to introduce ourselves. We are Jacob and Rachael Carter, a husband and wife photo team.
We both went to art school at the University of South Carolina, went to the same church, and had lots of mutual friends for years but our paths didn't actually cross until October 2013. I (Rachael) had just started my first year teaching elementary art and Jacob was homeless (kidding, but he was living in a transitional house as the house leader for men coming out of homelessness).
One of our first connectors was photography. I had just been given my first Nikon and I was scheduled to shoot my first wedding later that month, so Jacob offered to show me some things about the camera and give me some tips. So our first (sort of) date was taking photos at the Horseshoe, and the adventures never stopped since!
On any normal day you can find us drinking coffee, watching The Office (Jacob can pretty much quote the entire series), and playing with our mini schnauzer, backyard chickens, and two bunnies! We also love hiking and exploring small towns, and get overly excited for any kind of breakfast food.
We love doing life together and that we get to share this passion together. We believe photography is relational so we want our clients to know us as who we are and our stories and not just someone holding a camera! We look forward to getting to know you too :)
